Why yes, I'm still alive. I've just been devilishly sick these past few days. Haven't barely made it out of bed. I've read through Naomi Novik's Temeraire series again and much enjoyed it. It has come to my attention, while reading it, that THIS is how a dragon companion should be done, as opposed to what Paolini did with Saphira. I am quite happy to those who insisted I try the rest of the series. More on the Saphira/Eragon - Temeraire/Laurence relationships later. Also, have read "First Among Sequels" and have a fan fic brewing in there from it. Have a million and one questions about things in there and desperately love Fforde's humor. I shall run off with him and put him in my closet. Found out what happened to my cookies. They were missing when I came home, four very nice and lovely soft frosted cookies. Turns out my cat sitter let her children take them without stopping them. She didn't say she did, but having seen how she handles her children and knowing that she brought them to help feed the cat, I realize that she didn't stop them from taking the cookies. I left them on my kitchen table. I come home, they are not here. I know the cat would not have eaten them. As good, kind, and lovely as my friend is, she as about as much control over her children as I do over the national budget.
